News: Deep Silver gives us our first look at Dead Island Retro Revenge with this brand new trailer to whet your gaming appetite.

”Dead

Dead Island Retro Revenge is coming out at the same time as the Dead Island Definitive Collection and if you pick up the physical version it is coming with that collection. Earlier today Deep Silver released the first trailer for this retro title and it looks like it will have some old school goodness. Hell-bent on saving his cat, Max must carve a bloody path through a zombie-infested California, tearing his way through hordes of the undead, battalions of corrupt soldiers, and a slew of evil-minded ex-cons. Pull off crazy combos, collect power-ups, wield super weapons, and unleash insane magic attacks as you fight to become the amazing 16-bit side-scrolling hero you've always believed yourself to be.

Some of the features for Dead Island Retro Revenge will include:

  • Retro look meets melee-based combat

  • Leaderboards, achievements/trophies and more

  • Game mechanics such as power-ups, super attacks and a cool combo system

  • The Dead Island Definitive Collection will be available for $39.99 when it launches later this month. The digital pre-order on Steam should be available now (if it isn’t, then it should become available later today) and be sure to check the Steam community as Deep Silver has indicated you might find some nice discounts there.

If you do not want to buy the collection you can buy each title a la carte for $19.99 each. Dead Island Definitive Edition, Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition and Dead Island Retro Revenge are all slated to be released on May 31 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Will you be picking any of these games up? Tell us what you think below.
