News: You no longer have to use the Xbox One Twitch app to take advantage of some of the social features.

”Twitch"

A nice new feature is now available to Xbox One gamers who stream on Twitch. In the past only Xbox One players broadcasting via the Xbox Twitch app could take advantage of different ways to promote your content such as sharing updates and things of that nature.

Now you don’t need to be using the Xbox One Twitch app at all if you don’t want to. Any Twitch user who has their Xbox Live and Twitch accounts linked and is broadcasting an Xbox One game using a capture card will automatically have their content amplified in the following places:

  • The Activity Feed on Xbox One and the Xbox app on Windows 10, iOS and Android

  • Notifications to your followers on Xbox One and the Xbox app on Windows 10, iOS and Android

  • Game Product Details Page in the Xbox Store

  • As mentioned above, all you need to do is link your Xbox Live and Twitch accounts. Once you do that you just use your favorite capture card (I personally use El Gato) and broadcast to Twitch like you normally do. Make sure that Twitch is correctly identifying the game that you are playing and then you are good to go.

What do you think of this new feature? What would you like to see Microsoft work on next?
