News: Final Fantasy fans will have to wait an extra few weeks to play Final Fantasy XV so Square Enix can further polish the game.

”Final

Final Fantasy XV has been officially delayed by Square Enix. It was originally supposed to be released on September 30 but now fans will have to wait until November 29 to pick it up. This is obviously disappointing news for fans that are eager for the next game in the Final Fantasy franchise but we have waited almost ten years for this game so what is eight more weeks? I’m just hoping that when Final Fantasy XV does finally get released that it is the game we all hope it is and that it meets its potential.

The reason for the delay, according to Square Enix, is to give the development team time to further polish and conduct quality testing so that the reality of the game can indeed match the expectations everyone has. Whether they will achieve that goal remains to be seen but it is nice to see they aren’t just rushing the game out.

“From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series. Regrettably, we need a little bit more time to deliver on this vision and are confident that this new release date will help us achieve this,” said Hajime Tabata the game director. “As the director and lead of this project, I wish to personally apologize for the additional wait. As a team, we want Final Fantasy XV to achieve a level of perfection that our fans deserve. We kindly ask for your understanding.”

Square Enix has also stated that they will let us know at a later time whether the release dates for the disc version of both Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV and Brotherhood Final Fantasy XV will be changed or if it will remain the same. Personally I would be willing bet those are delayed since they are supposed to come with the game and, well, the game has been delayed. The digital version of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV remains unchanged however and will be released on August 30.

The funny part about all of this is that back at the Final Fantasy XV Uncovered event earlier this year Square Enix teased a November 30, 2016 release date for a few moments before announcing the September 30, 2016 date. Take a look at the video below that Square Enix released to coincide with this announcement. Will you be picking up Final Fantasy XV on November 29?
