According to Charlie Intel, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered might be releasing standalone this summer. A listing popped up on Gamefly (that has since removed) indicating the PlayStation 4 version might come out on June 20 and the Xbox One version coming out a month later on July 20. If you will recall this is similar to what they did last year when they released the Modern Warfare Remastered campaign 30 days early on PlayStation 4.
As it stands right now the only way that you can play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is if you own Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, a fun game in its own right. It was always assumed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered would eventually be a standalone product but it was going to take a while to happen as Activision wouldn’t want the people who supported them last year to feel burned by releasing this too soon.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered features the iconic campaign that helped shape the FPS landscape for years to come as well as the multiplayer suite with all 16 original maps. Just like in the previous generation there is also some optional DLC that you can buy where you will get a few more maps.
