Constructor is coming to the Americas on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 according to System 3 and Deep Silver. The embodiment of “construction meets corruption,” Constructor empowers the player as a budding property tycoon on a mission to build a successful city. This doesn’t just involve the speedy building of homes and businesses, however; players must negotiate the tangled web of Undesirables, a motley collection of reprobates that can be used against them – and by them, against others. Murder, arson, extortion, and sabotage are all tools at your disposal in this ultimate fight for power.
The use of Undesirables forms one of the core gameplay mechanics. Whether employing a group of antagonistic thugs to terrorize a neighbourhood, sending round a hippy to squat in opponents’ empty properties, bringing in Mr. Fix It to botch their gas supplies or involving the criminal underworld in your enterprises, there are many tools at your disposal to help hinder your fellow players and make their commercial lives a living hell. Facing a protection racket from the mob? Why not send along a group of maniacal clowns to terrify your enemy into submission.
“Constructor is a game I took great joy in creating, and having the chance to delve into its universe once again has been incredible,” said John Twiddy. “A whole generation adored the original. I, along with the original collaborators, am delighted to be showcasing Constructor’s unique charm to a whole new audience.”
Gamers on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can sample the delights of Constructor in a free demo available now on the PlayStation Network. The demo should also appear on Xbox Live but as of the time this article was posted it wasn’t available quite yet. The demo allows a full playthrough of the 40-minute tutorial, followed by 12 minutes of uninterrupted fun in the single-player mode of this cult British classic, with unlimited replays available.

Constructor will be available digitally on Xbox One and PS4 on July 25. There will also be a physical version of Constructor but it is a Gamestop exclusive. Will you be picking up Constructor next month?
