Call of Duty: Black Ops III Operation Swarm Now Live

News: This new operation will run in Call of Duty: Black Ops III up until the big Black Ops IIII community reveal on May 17.

Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII is coming later this year but earlier today Activision announced some new content is arriving in Black Ops III in the form of Operation Swarm. One piece of new content comes in the form of the fan favorite mode, Prop Hunt. Props and Hunters can do battle in hide and seek combat throughout different Black Ops III locations. Beginning today, ten maps will be available for Prop Hunt play in Black Ops III, including:

Aquarium

Combine

Evac

Exodus

Fringe

Redwood

Hunted

Infection

Breach

Operation Swarm is also bringing in two weapons with the RPK (LMG) and the Sten (SMG). The RPK is from the original Black Ops game while the Sten here is also from the first Black Ops game. You can can use these two weapons or any other one of your choice and put on the HIVE weapon camo as well. This is a limited time camo that is available in the Black Market until May 9, 10am Pacific.

In addition to all of that you will also get to see Fringe during nightfall. Not only that but you get to see it back in its heyday, before it became a forgotten farm town. During this time a storm is rolling in across the horizon as well making it an interesting new variation on a map for you to check out.

Throughout Operation Swarm the team at Activision has quite a lot planned. There will be 2XP playlists, and you can get a unique Operation Swarm Calling Card just for logging in. This event is leading up to the big community reveal that will be taking place for Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII on May 17. You can watch that event on CallofDuty.com beginning at 10am Pacific time.
