Nier: Automata Might Be Heading to the Xbox One

News: If current rumors are to be believed, Platinum Games might be releasing another one of their titles on Microsoft’s platform.

Rumors have started circling that Nier: Automata might be heading to the Xbox One in the near future. Previously only available on the PlayStation 4 and PC, Nier: Automata has been highly regarded by fans and critics alike and it would be another great addition to the Xbox One library of titles.

The source of this latest rumor is jeuxvideo.com. It should be noted that jeuxvideo.com has been correct in the past regarding some other games coming to Xbox One that had been previously only on PS4 and PC so this definitely could happen. It might also be an Xbox One X Enhanced title as well. If this turns out to be true it would appear that, as far as consoles are concerned, Sony only had a timed exclusive for this title. It is similar to how Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was recently released on the Xbox One and how the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will also be arriving on Microsoft’s platform in the near future.

For those who might not be familiar with Nier: Automata, the premise is below:

”The distant future…

Invaders from another world attack without warning, unleashing a new type of threat: weapons known as “machine lifeforms.” In the face of this insurmountable threat, mankind is driven from Earth and takes refuge on the Moon.

The Council of Humanity organizes a resistance of android soldiers in an effort to take back their planet. To break the deadlock, the Resistance deploys a new unit of android infantry: YoRHa .

In the forsaken wasteland below, the war between the machines and the androids rages on. A war that is soon to unveil the long-forgotten truth of this world...“

No release date was mentioned but it wouldn’t surprise me if this was an E3 announcement next month. For now this remains just a rumor but with the aforementioned titles making their way over to Xbox One the possibility that this happens is pretty high, in my opinion.
