Activision has revealed that there is a new companion app for Call of Duty. Available for both iOS and Android, the new Call of Duty companion app will help your gameplay to the next level with a number of new features. For starters, there is a feed where you can keep track of your friends and monitor their progress so you can see you is ahead and when it is time to gloat. This app will also allow you to squad up with up to 20 players and earn in-game and exclusive rewards by completing weekly objectives as a squad. Some of the challenges you might get tasked with includes getting a certain number of zombie kills or potentially winning matches in a specific game mode.
“The Call of Duty Companion App is something that we are very excited for players to use to enhance their gameplay experience,” said Gina Hope, Senior Director of Marketing Technology at Activision. “From connecting you with friends and fellow players to providing personalized match analysis to checking out your load outs and competing in challenges with your own squad, it’s a new way for players to engage with the game and the community.”
When you first connect to your in-game profile in the app you will receive a personalized history into your previously played matches in Black Ops 4 in Blackout, Multiplayer, and Zombies. Additionally, you will see your history from Call of Duty: WWII as it relates to multiplayer, including the war mode. Once you sign up you will receive a weekly Action Report of how you performed over the last week, as well as Weekly Briefings that will give you some tips and tricks on how to do better. You will also have stats for individual weapons, equipment, and load outs, in addition to match analyses and heat maps to track every bullet and movement in that match.
This app will also keep you in the know as it relates to what in-game event might be happening this weekend, inform you about the latest patch, or about that item you were curious about in the game.
“The release of the Call of Duty Companion App is part of our continued commitment to creating personalized services for players that enhances their gameplay and deepens their connection to the game, as well as other players,” said Monte Lutz, SVP of Consumer Engagement, Activision. “We’re launching with compelling features that are tailor-made for the Call of Duty community, and we’ll continue to add new capabilities, including localization, a loadout editor and chat, that will give players the tools they need to get the most out of Call of Duty. We look forward to partnering with the community on developing the roadmap for future features.”
