News: Sega revealed the last titles that they will be putting on their mini console along with the fact that the console will actually have 42 games on it.
The Sega Genesis Mini is slated to come out a little later this year. Sega has been methodically announcing which games will make an appearance on the platform and now we have the final 12 titles. Yes, there were 12 titles in the final announcement which means that the Sega Genesis Mini will not have the 40 games originally advertised. Instead, it will actually have 42 games when you buy it later this year.
The 12 new games that were just announced include the following:
Tetris
Darius
Virtua Fighter 2
Alisia Dragoon
Monster World IV
Kid Chameleon
Road Rash II
Eternal Champions
Columns
Dynamite Headdy
Strider
Light Crusader
The Sega Genesis Mini is currently slated to be released on September 19, 2019. It will be available for $79.99 and come with 42 games pre-installed. The Sega Genesis Mini is based on the original Model 1 Genesis which launched in October 1988 in Japan, August 1989 in North America, and November 1990 everywhere else. As far as the actual size of this console, it is approximately 55% of the original Model 1 size.
If you decide you want to purchase the Sega Genesis Mini console when it arrives in September the following items will be in the box:
Sege Genesis Mini console
Two replica three-button USB Genesis controllers
One USB to Micro-B power cable
One power adapter (North America only)
One HDMI cable
