News: Submit a video about your personal journey with the Sega Genesis and you might get featured in a compilation video.
The Sega Genesis Mini will arrive in stores on September 19 but Sega wants to hear your Genesis story right now. In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Sega Genesis and the upcoming release, they want fans to make a video clip sharing your personal story with this console. Some of the examples they provided are reminiscing about that summer you spent with your Genesis, performing a cover of your favorite in-game song, sharing your amazing cosplay, doing your best “SEGA!!” scream with friends and more.
The deadline for this promotion is August 13th. Winners will be included in a compilation video that will presumably be released to help market the Sega Genesis Mini, although that last part is pure speculation on our end. Before pushing the record button Sega has some tips for making the best possible video you can:
Camera Setup - Talk directly to the camera, just like you’re doing a video chat.
Video Length - Keep your submissions no longer than one minute in length.
Using Your Phone - Hold your phone on its side and record your video horizontally (landscape mode).
Lighting - Ideally record during the day, with indirect lighting and avoid drastic face shadows.
Sound - Record in a quiet location and avoid background noise.
Clothing - Please avoid logos or complex patterns on your clothing
These are obviously only suggestions on Sega’s part, however, if you want the best possible chance to have your video featured, you should follow these guidelines. Once you are done recording you can visit their submission page at https://www.sega.com/mystory. It should be pointed out that Sega also stated that non-English speakers are also welcome to submit their videos.
