News: The Chicago Cubs will feature one of their players on the cover of Sony’s popular baseball franchise.

The World Series is getting ready to start between the Houston Astros and the Washington Nationals. Sony is getting in on the fun by revealing who is going to be their cover athlete for MLB The Show ‘20 when it launches next year on March 17. Javier “El Mago” Baez will be making his debut on the cover of Sony’s popular annual franchise after putting some up impressive stats over the past couple of seasons. In 2018, for example, Javier hit 34 home runs, had 111 RBI’s and a .290 batting average.

“I am so honored and excited to be on the cover of MLB The Show 20. I’ll never forget how it felt when I saw myself in the game for the first time (even as a backup!). It was so surreal. Still, it’s one thing to see your virtual self, but it’s completely next level to be on the cover of a game you’ve played and love. Let’s go!” Báez said.

Sony has also revealed that early access weekend is back with MLB The Show ‘20. If you pre-order the GameStop Exclusive 15th Anniversary Edition, MVP Edition, or the PlayStation Store Exclusive Digital Deluxe Edition you will get access to the game four days early beginning on March 13, 2020.
