Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to be released next week on current and next-gen consoles. Game file sizes tend to keep going up as 4K slowly becomes the standard and the Call of Duty games are no exception. Activision has revealed the amount of hard drive space that you will need for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
The file sizes for each platform are below:
Xbox Series X|S - 136GB
Xbox One - 93GB
PlayStation 5 - 133GB
PlayStation 4 - 95GB
PC - 125GB (Full Game utilizing Ultra Graphics), 82GB (Entire Game), 35GB (Multiplayer Suite Only)
The ability to only install certain sections of a game is certainly a nice feature, especially if you are running low on hard drive space. Activision has also stated that console gamers will finally be able to do this as well. While I don’t have the actual numbers, I have to assume it is somewhat similar to the PC breakdown. Seeing as how the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 will require that next-gen games run on the internal drive (as opposed to an external drive) this is great news for gamers.
Regardless of whether you choose to download the full game or a single mode, it is still a pretty big download. To help mitigate that players who pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be able to preload this title before it is released. The timetable is a bit different depending on what platform you are going to play on.
