Gears 5 Multiplayer Adds The New Day As Playable Characters

News: Don’t you dare be sour when you see that you can pick from the members of the New Day to play as in Gears 5 multiplayer.

It’s a New Day in Gears 5 as Microsoft and the Coalition have revealed that Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Big E are now characters you can play as in Gears 5 multiplayer. Collectively known as The New Day, all three men are extremely popular WWE Superstars with the trio being nine time WWE Tag Team Champions and Kofi Kingston climbing the mountain and becoming WWE Champion a couple years back at WrestleMania.

Now all three gentlemen are selectable characters in the Gears 5 multiplayer in custom COG armor inspired by their flashy ring gear, unique weapon skins, and over 700 lines of newly recorded battle chatter. In a special episode of UpUpDownDown (Xavier Wood’s Youtube channel that celebrates gaming and general “nerd” culture) on Thanksgiving, there will be a behind the scenes look into how The New Day got transformed into Gears of War characters. For those that are interested, the episode will be available at 10 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. Pacific. If you are a Game Pass Ultimate member you can download this new pack for free through December 4th. If you are not a Game Pass Ultimate member, you can buy the pack for $19.99, either in the Microsoft Store or Steam if you are on the PC version.

To help celebrate this occasion the New Day has a surprise planned for this weekend’s Survivor Series pay per view, which begins at 4 p.m. Pacific. You can watch this event through the WWE Network app on your Xbox. If you are someone who likes to collect things you will want to keep an eye out for WWE x Gears 5 cross-over merchandise available for a limited time this weekend WWE’s official store as well as the UpUpDownDown shop.

The New Day aren’t the only WWE Superstars to get in on the Gears action though. You can have Dave Batista be Marcus Fenix in campaign mode, along with optimizations for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. If you are a Game Pass Ultimate member, you can download Gears 5 for free and play it. If you aren’t, you can buy the game for $9.99 right now thanks to Black Friday deals.
