News: PC gamers have a new strategy to enjoy with over 20 challenging tactical scenarios.

”Toy

Toy Tactics, a new RTS, has reached version 1.0 on PC via Steam today. That means PC gamers can enjoy the full version of this new strategy game while console gamers will have to wait just a bit longer until “Q4 2024.”

This battlefield might look playful, with minifigures of Roman Imperium legions and their mastery of fire, the cold hearts and their own icy forces of the medieval Pendragon squads, the stealthy movements and precise strikes of the Kyoukai Samurai, the quest for treasure… and victory of the Freebooters Pirate army, and the necromancy-fueled forces of the Draugr horde Undead warriors. But I assure you, when the Undead mounted on their prehistoric friends extinguish you, you won’t be laughing.

You will command your army with a powerful, mystical paintbrush that lets you draw formations with ease. Use magical spells, relics, the environment as your ally, physics that intensifies battles and wobblers to gain the upper hand in combat.

You’ll have to master those strategic skills, because even with an easy-to-use magical brush, the more than 20 hours of challenging tactical scenarios will test your mettle. The five campaigns – one for each army – present new challenges along with the game modes: Sandbox where you can simulate any battle, solve over 60 puzzles from the Tactics Book, Skirmish, and Mercenaries.

It’s always helpful to have a good ally on your side and the new online multiplayer debuting in 1.0 lets you bring a battle buddy or turn them into your enemy, as well as face off against another commander in online battles for tactical supremacy.

“Toy Tactics really is going to ambush anyone who thinks it’s easy just because of our aesthetic,” says Antonio Iglesias, Lead Developer at Kraken Empire. “It may use minifigures to depict war, but so does Warhammer — and anyone familiar knows just how bloody things can get over there. We may be more approachable than other titles in the RTS genre, but we want to teach you the tactics to become an expert, and you will be tested.

Key Features:

  • Paint your way to victory, using a paintbrush to draw formations and command legions

  • Engage in brutal 1v1 and cooperative battles where every decision counts

  • 1v1: Face off against another player. Build your army, select powerful relics and spells, and meticulously plan your tactics to emerge victorious

  • Co-op Mode: Team up with another player to fight against AI, aiming to survive, coordinate, and produce units. Strategic skills and quick decision-making will be paramount

  • Roman soldiers, Samurai warriors, and raptor-riding skeletons?! Yes, please! Command the minifigure army of your dreams

  • Outmaneuver opponents using real strategies inspired by Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" and your own creative tactics

  • Watch helmets roll and walls crumble with Toy Tactics’ physics-based combat

  • Create customizable formations that will either save or doom you

  • Unleash game-changing spells to rain down fire or heal your troops

  • Toy Tactics launches its all-out assault today on PC via Steam. PlayStation 4 & 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One and Series X|S will arrive with reinforcements in Q4 2024. Take a look at the video and tell us what you think. Will you be picking up Toy Tactics?
