For those who sit in front of a screen all day, one of the most important items you can have is a really nice chair. It needs to be comfortable but it also needs to offer the right amount of support for those long days in front of a keyboard. Gaming Target was recently sent a chair in Flexispot’s C7 Ergonomic Office Chair collection to test out for a while and give our thoughts.
When the chair arrived I noticed it was packaged in a really big box. The box size is standard for a new office chair but for those who might not have got a new chair for quite a while, it might be a little bit of a surprise. Once I unpacked everything and I had the parts spread out, I then proceeded to look over the manual. I found the manual to be pretty straightforward, with one exception. There was one step that was a bit confusing and after asking around I could see some of my colleagues felt the same way. That one step aside, I thought it explained everything else well and certainly better than some other manuals I have seen with other products. One particular thing I took note of is that there were also some spare parts, something I always appreciate in case something happens, whether a screw gets misplaced or whatever.
Assembling the chair took me around 25 minutes or so. I did it by myself but the process would certainly have been quicker (and easier) if I had worked with someone else on assembling the chair. You will need a little bit of muscle to put a couple of components together, such as putting the arms on the chair. You have to put the arms on the chair from the bottom, which means lifting the chair up a bit so that the screws can be placed in. This can be a bit tough to do thanks to the weight of the chair, unless you have a second person assisting you that can hold it up while you work on making sure everything is screwed in correctly. I also found that the placement of some of the screws could have been better. Their current location can make it a bit difficult to insert and twist properly to make sure the screws are installed correctly. The overall assembly of the chair isn’t bad at all. There are just a few minor things that I mentioned. Assembling this chair by yourself is definitely possible but having a second person can make it a whole lot easier (and potentially quicker).
Once the chair is fully assembled, it makes a good first impression and offers a number of different options for you. I really appreciated the lumbar support cushion which seemed to be able to adjust to me when I would change my posture. I don’t always have the best posture when sitting down but I found this chair can help with that, at least a little bit. One thing I especially liked was the lockable lumbar support. You can choose whether to have it locked at an angle for better lumbar support or keep it unlocked for a wider range of support. This can be really important depending on the body type that is using the chair. The suggested height for this product ranges from 5’10” to 6’10” and should be able to accommodate people of all sizes.
Other options that are available to me that I really appreciated include the adjustable headset, the 3D adjustable armrest, and the adjustable seat depth. Being able to customize this experience to this degree really helped me out over time as I would adjust my seating position during different parts of the workday. I did also appreciate the different styles this chair allows you to have, whether you want to try and sit straight up to get some work done or relax a bit by leaning back, while still having the proper back support thanks to the lumbar system.I know I mentioned earlier the suggested height for this product but the seat can also tilt forward which should help those who might be a little shorter.
During my time with this chair I found the build quality to be really nice and it seemed to be able to adapt to whatever I threw at it. The chair seems to be sturdy and that it will be something I can use for a long time. After a long work session, as well as a gaming session, I was able to get up and not feel some of the lower back pain I would with other chairs. Of course this will be dependent on the specific person. Different body types will have different experiences but with the level of customization this chair utilizes, I feel confident that everyone should be able to adjust it accordingly to suit their needs.
As of the time of this writing the C7 Ergonomic Office Chair is available for $299. While I know that might seem expensive it is far less than some of the other comparable chairs on the market, and those chairs might not offer all of the different options you have available with the C7. Of course when you are buying the chair you can pick some different options that will raise the price, but the base starting at $299 should be good news for those who want to pick up a new chair but don’t have a fortune to spend on it.
Overall I can definitely recommend the C7 Ergonomic Office Chair. I was able to remain comfortable throughout the day, and the lumbar support system that it features is a game changer, at least for me. The different styles available, whether you need to be a bit more serious during working hours or you want to kick back during a gaming session, really works out well. If you are looking for a new chair but don’t want to break the bank, be sure to check this chair out to see if it can meet your needs.
