Maximum Entertainment has revealed that the second major update for chaotic co-op city builder Overthrown is now available in Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview. Overthrown invites players to hurl anything and everything to the wide-open sky (from houses and trees to your very own citizens) to create the kingdom of your wildest dreams in a wild, fast-paced race to rule.
Since its launch in the Early Access programs, Overthrown has already received a major update earlier this year, introducing additions such as firebombs, powder kegs, woolies, and extended seasons. Today’s ‘Nature Update’ continues to expand the game’s dynamic world with new tree species, environmental zones, citizens, abilities, and much more.
Some of the key features for Overthrown include:
New Builder's Workshop & Builders, Foragers Hut & Foragers, Weaving Mill & Weavers
New decorative props such as scarecrows, hay feeders, and soldier posts
A mighty new weapon: The Greathammer
New tree species including fir trees
Enhanced lighting
Overhauled user interface (UI) for improved accessibility
A new ‘bowling’ effect when tossing boulders
Expanded buildings and citizens with unique abilities
Introduction of Theatres and Bards
...And much more!
Overthrown is available now in Steam Early Access, in Xbox Game Preview, and available day one with Xbox Game Pass. The game will later release into 1.0 across Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5.
In Overthrown you play as Runa, a monarch in possession of an ancient soul-stealing crown with magical abilities. With its power, establish a kingdom in a perilous wilderness and defend it from mutants and bandits roaming the land. Build and manage alone or with friends in up to six-player co-op. Explore varied buildings like the butcher shop, ale house, and sawmill, watch the changing of seasons, farm your land, and harness the power of your magical crown.
