First Impressions: More thrills per minute than a busload of Cuban contrasЕ

What's hotter n'heck and based in Cuba? If you said covert military operations, you'd be right.

What if you could bring that same Cuban Crisis excitement into your own living room? How much would that be worth? $59.95? $69.95? More?! How about this? Not only do you get 8 new single player missions, you also get this tantalizing set of 8 multiplayer maps covering burning desert sands, sweltering jungle heat, and scintillating city combat! But that's not all! There's even more! You also get 4 fan-favorite maps from the original Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon (Xbox) for additional Live play, and one dozen different modes of mayhem! How much would that be worth? Before you answer let me tell you about the exclusive downloadable content featuring new maps and missions delivered right into your home over Xbox Live. Now, what would that be worth?! How about a suggested US retail price of $39.95!!! All in one convenient stand-alone disk that fits comfortably right into your very own Xbox!

If you don't already have the picture, there's serious action headed to your home this summer. The Ghosts are back, and better than ever in this expansion pack bursting with more of the same addictive game play we all love Ghost Recon for. New maps, favorite maps, new game play and new missions all round out the latest addition to the Tom Clancy franchise.

Here's the story; It's 2009 and Cuba is conducting its first democratic elections since April 16, 1961, when Fidel Castro first declared Cuba a communist state. This time instead of Georgian rebels you're dealing with a ruthless drug czar set on thwarting the newfound democratic freedom of the people of Cuba. You and the Ghosts are the only force capable of preventing the country from slipping back into a black abyss of communism and corruption. Good stuff, huh? It's basic meat and potatoes Tom Clancy fair, but boy is it served in a tasty way.

If you're a fan of the original Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon for Xbox then this should do a lot to fill your lust for more Ghost Recon goodness. The expansion pack is based on the Cuban campaign from Ghost Recon Island Thunder for PC and popular maps from Ghost Recon Desert Siege for PC. Included are four additional maps from the original Xbox version of Ghost Recon.

Final Thoughts
If you're a veteran player then the old Eastern Europe maps will feel right at home. If this is your first time you'll see what all the excitement was about in the first place. Either way Thunder Island promises to serve up some of the best gaming to be found in the First Person Tactical Shooter genre this year.
