First Impressions: If you need a break what could be more relaxing than a vacation full of magic?

With the RPG of Magical Vacation being brought to Game Boy Advance from Brownie Brown, a company consisting of former Squaresoft members, high expectations might easily arise. If one also considers that the company was founded by four of the designers responsible for Seiken Densetsu, which is called Secret of Mana in the US, RPG-lovers' expectations might just explode.

Magical Vacation is, however, shrouded in mystery and not much is known about the game. What we do know is that the game's backdrop is that of a school of magic where students might attend to develop and hone their skills. One day evil creatures attack a group of apprentices, thus scaring the poor fellows into another dimension. This other world is called The Plain of Light, and trouble is bound to be near. The students are not completely dumbfounded, though, and decide to help each other in finding a way home.

The game seemingly sports wonderful hand-drawn graphics, and the music is reportedly on par with the visuals. Coming from the people of Brownie Brown the story will most probably not disappoint, but what is most intriguing at this point are the possible multiplayer aspects. If Magical Vacation will support several players via link cable or mobile adapter is too early to say, but it has at least been touted as a Уcommunication gameФ at several occasions.

Take from that what you will. In any case, many sources have claimed that there will be side quests available for multiple players. If we stretch hope a bit, could there possibly be support for more than just two players simultaneously?

Final Thoughts
Probably the game will be played much like Zelda and the like by means of a real-time combat system. It is not confirmed yet, but hopefully it'll be something else than the hack-slash-wait system in Final Fantasy at least. And even if not much is revealed about the game, the little that we do know surely sounds promising. If putting into the equation the fact that international versions of the game have been promised, how could one not be excited?
