News: Namco releases first details on their next game in the popular flight sim series.
Namco's popular combat flight sim series Ace Combt will be getting a new game this fall in the form of Ace Combat 5:
In the game's premise, it is September 23, 2010 on distant Sand Island, a small island in the Ceres Ocean that divides the two superpowers, Osea and Yuktobania. An entire military base is on red alert -- the 108th Tactical Fighter Squadron intercepted an unidentified aircraft and the entire squadron was decimated.
The game will feature over 30 missions and over 50 real life planes. Missions will require players to recon the enemy, rescue fallen comrades and naturally to engage in air-to-air and air-to-ground combat. For the first time in the series' history, you'll also be able to control your wingmen through a system called Wingman Command. This will allow you to coordinate group attacks and become a true flying ace. Namco has not said yet whether the USB headset will fit into their plans for Wingman Command.
We'll keep you posted.
