News: Microsoft puts the kibosh on their Xbox Live MMORPG.
Microsoft Japan announced today that True Fantasy Live Online, the company's highly anticipated upcoming MMORPG, is no more.
True Fantasy Live Online was being developed by Level 5, the development team behind the Dark Cloud series.аTheyаare alsoаworking onаthe latest Dragon Warrior, Dragon Warrior VIII, for Square-Enix for the PlayStation 2. As no one at Gaming Target reads Japanese, the Babelfish translation of the press release gives this reason for the cancellation:
"We could not anticipate the progress to a state where the original online game experience can be offered to everyone yet, regrettable we decided the latest development discontinuance."
Basically, it seems that the game was not coming togetherаthe wayаMicrosoft had hoped and so it gets the boot.
