News: The cat with the goggles and vacuum cleaner is back. I'm sure someone cares...
In a shear bit of complete Public Relations overload, Microsoft has announced Blinx 2: Masters of Time & Space, which they tout as the world's first "5D" game. Supposedly in Blinx 2, players will not only be able to control the standard three dimensions: height, width and depth, but also time and space. 5D you see. Or marketing speak gone mad. Whatever.
Thankfully, Microsoft was also willing toаreveal someаreal game information.аFirst and foremost is that the VCR-like time controls are making a return for the sequel. Blinx will once again be able to slow down the action, pause, review, fast-forward and record the action to help complete his quest. New this time will be the ability to play as a bunch of space controlling pigs that can create worm holes and black holes at will.
Blinx 2 will also feature more multiplayer modes than you can shake a Time Sweeper at. In addition to the single player mode, players will be able to team up with another friend and play through the game's missions in a two player cooperative mode. More enemies, tougher enemies and more difficult puzzles await in this mode. A 4-player Battle Mode will also be included that will give players the chance to lead Blinx and a team of time stopping cats against a horde of black hole making pigs or vice versa. You'll apparently be able to fully customize your characters with unique faces, bodies and clothing.
Blinx 2: Masters of Time & Space is currently scheduled to ship in Late 2004, we'll keep you posted as more develops.
