News: More NES re-releases for the Land of the Rising Sun.
Nintendo continues to make waves in the handheld world as they announced the third wave of Famicom Minis (orаthe Classic NES Series over here) for the Game Boy Advance. Thisаset is scheduled for release in Japan only on August 10. Nintendo also stated that the second wave of titles would be discontinued on that day. A North American date is unknown as Nintendo has not yet announced whether we on the English speaking side of the world will see any more NES Classics, whether they're part of series two or three.
This third series features games that were created for Famicom's Disk System add-on that was releasedаonly in Japan. The games were available on floppy disks, but Nintendo ported many of them to cartridges for release in North America.
For those who can read Japanese, the official website for Series 3 can be found here.аBut for importers everywhere and those whoаwould rather have it in English, these are the ten titles Nintendo has planned for Famicom Mini Series 3:
Castlevania
Kid Icarus
Metroid
Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
