News: Get ready to raid some more tombs with Lara Croft, if you really want a seventh Tomb Raider game.

Top Cow Productions, the company behind the Tomb Raider comic, has revealed some interesting developments on the next Tomb Raider title. The still unnamed seventh adventure of Miss Croft now has a Summer 2005 release date and Top Cow plans to commemorate Lara's new look with a new look for the comic.

"Once we spoke with Eidos and realized they were changing Lara Croft up quite a bit it seemed a prudent course to wrap up what we're doing now and prepare for the newer version sometime late next year," says Top Cow President Matt Hawkins.

According to Top Cow, the January 2005 issue, number 50, will be the end of volume one. Volume two will start when the new Tomb Raider game hits store shelves in the summer. Although it should be noted that this announcement is not coming from Eidos and could be trumped by them in the future.

Tomb Raider 7 will be the first game in the series devoloped by Crystal Dynamics, the team behind the popular Legacy of Kain series. Eidos decided not to renew their contract with Core Design, the creators of Tomb Raider,аbecause ofаthe poor showing of Angel of Darkness (evenаafter our very own Adam Wolcott said it wasn't all that bad).

We'll have more on all Lara Croft's latest spelunking adventure as it develops.
