News: Mastiff announces a special price and special features for Gungrave Overdose.

Withаthe phenomenal sales that followed ESPN NFL 2K5 after it released at a $19.99 price point, other companies were sure to try the premium game for a budget price tactic. Mastiff is the latest company to try this tactic, and they have raised the bar considerably for all future game deals.

Gungrave: Oversdose will ship on September 7 for a retail price of $14.99, but the price is only the beginning. If you purchase Overdoseаbefore March 2005 you willаreceive a three month trial subscription to Play and a Limited Edition Gungrave: Overdose art card.аIn addition to their game coverage,аPlay Magazine is known for it's in depth anime coverage, which fits in well with Mastiff's push to make Gungrave: Overdose an anime-crossover hit.

УGungrave: Overdose is awesome, absolutely over the top" commented Bill Swartz, Head Woof at Mastiff.а "We tried to come up with a promotion as good as the game and couldn't. But we've come pretty close. For fifteen dollars PlayStation 2 owners get one of the best Anime-based action titles to hit the system, three issues of a great gaming magazine, a limited edition collector's art card from Geneon Entertainment, publishers of the Anime on DVD, and a preview of the Anime in the game. You can't lose.Ф

Company rhetoric aside, I love Play Magazine. I'm not a big anime fan, but they produce some of the best writing on video games out there. So while I was mildly interested in Gungrave: Overdose before, this price and Play push it a little higher on my want list.

Check back in a few weeks for Gaming Target's full review of Gungrave: Overdose.
