Accessories: Is that a Cobra in your pocket or are you just advancing to see me?
Some may wonder the reason Game Boy Advance would even need an AC Adapter at all. Since it's start in 1989, Game Boy's battery power has been known to withstand hours of play, resulting in little need of additional batteries for extensive periods of time. Yet, with the inclusion of Color and now Advance to the GB family, the occurrences needed to change the batteries increase slightly. This instance alone won't rapidly arise enough for gamers to feel the need to buy an AC Adapter, however, there happen to be a few more that can contribute to a sensible motive to make the purchase.
Game Boy Advance's biggest weakness is obvious and well known to gamers by now; the lack of a backlit screen results in dark and gloomy visuals. Though at first you'd think this has little to do with the need to buy an AC Adapter, defeating the dilemma of the dim screen in purchasing a light will end up costing you a great deal in battery power. With accessory companies taking advantage of Game Boy's link port to connect the latest lights and not requiring another set of batteries, the power with fade fast and before you know it, the green LED indictor on your system will turn red in no time.
With so many accessories using the battery power in addition to Game Boy Advance causing it's own drain of energy, you won't be able to eliminate the problem with just a battery pack. The problem of taking the time to charge the pack after certain hours of use becomes an annoyance due to being unable to play. Believe it or not, the wise way out of this mess is by plugging an AC Adapter into the socket, which will cut down on your use of batteries completely. When you want to take Game Boy Advance on the go, then using a battery pack strictly for that purpose or carrying around a set of batteries does the trick.
Due to Game Boy Advance lacking a jack for any sort of AC Adapter, the wizards at Nuby were able to work around the minor problem by implanting one into the product itself. The Cobra AC Adapter Advance looks very much like the back covering on the system only with an extended base for the positive and negative prongs that are used in place of batteries. Once it's snapped in tight, putting the jack into the port on the cover, and plugging the adapter into the wall will eliminate the need for batteries when you have a socket available.
The look of both the plug end and back door cover of this AC Adapter take the form of Nuby's now known Cobra product line. With a variety of colors schemes available to match each Game Boy Advance, you can't go wrong with style. When taking GBA on the run and time calls for battery pack like I previously suggested up top, you can't go wrong with a matching Cobra Power Deluxe, which between that and AC Adapter here, will save you on batteries till the next millenniumЕor when Nintendo brings about another more Advanced portable.
