News: And Activision has announced a Collector's Edition too.

According to online retailer EBGames.com, Activision has revealed the final release date of Doom 3 for the Xbox and details of a Limited Collector's Edition. After many months of pronouncements of when it's done, now it finally is. Drumroll please.

Both the regular version and the Collector's Edition of Doom 3 will be released on March 1.

The Collector's Edition will retail for $59.99 and include several very nice extras. Tops on that list will be full versions of The Ultimate Doom and Doom II: Hell on Earth with 2-4 player splitscreen co-op and deathmatch play. That's a mouthful, but the CE will also include:

  • G4 TV "Icons" feature: Behind the scenes of DOOM 3
  • Interviews with the id Software team
  • Concept art: storyboard and sketch gallery
