News: Was there ever a doubt?

During the press events to promote the European release of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Hideo Kojima has confirmed that he and Konami are hard at work on Metal Gear Solid 4.

No one's said the word "next-generation" yet, but given the three-year release cycle of every Metal Gear Solid game, that puts number 4 in 2007, smack dab in the middle of PlayStation 3 country.

The game is obviously still very early, the "planning stages" officially and Kojima has said he will not produce this edition of MGS. Kojima will step in as Executive Producer and Head of Development and will obviously be responsible for the game's story. But producing duties will go to Kenichiro Imaizumi and Yoji Shinkawa will be the Character Designer. Both were handpicked for their positions by Kojima.
