News: PSP and Xbox Next Tomb Raider games announced and a ton of delays.

This morning Eidos revealed the grim financial news of the first half of their fiscal year that started June 1, 2004. Eidos revealed that due to a lack of major titles released between June and December 31, their financials included an operating loss of 26.5 million pounds. The one bright spot in this time period for Eidos was that delaying ShellShock: Nam '67 did help its sales figures as 900,000 copies have bene sold across all platforms.

Eidos also used this oppurtunity to announce several delays involving major titles all planned for this summer. Just Cause (PS2, Xbox), 25 to Life (PS2, Xbox), Hitman: Blood Money (PS2, Xbox) and the next Tomb Raider game (PS2) have all been moved out of the summer with a new release date of "sometime before June 30, 2006."

And speaking of Tomb Raider, Eidos also announced that new versions of Tomb Raider are now in development for both the Xbox Next and the PSP. They are also expected to ship "sometime before June 30, 2006."

Because of this shuffling of release dates, Eidos is putting all of its eggs in their next fiscal year, beginning July 1, 2005. The recently released Project: Snowblind will be Eidos' major title for the remainder of this fiscal year.

We'll have more on all of these delayed and newly announced games in the near future.
