News: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire coming in time for the movie.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is coming to theaters this November. Not surprisingly, EA is lining up the next Harry Potter game for exactly the same time. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire game will ship in November for the PS2, Xbox, GameCube, PSP, DS and GBA.
The game will follow the events of the movie that many novel fans are already familiar with (and movie fans will want to avoid the spoilers). Harry will take part in the Triwizard Tournament, "confront a fire-breathing dragon, rescue friends from the icy depths of the Black Lake" and fight their way through a dangerous maze. Like the book and the movie, the game will end with a duel with Lord Voldemort.
"Working with EA, we look forward to offering players a highly developed Harry Potter game with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," said Jason Hall, Senior Vice President for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "The game will possess the extremely creative aspects of the Harry Potter world captured in both the film and the book, giving fans a complete interactive experience."
Harry, Ron and Hermione will all be playable characters just as they were in Prisoner of Azkaban. Co-op play for an unspecified number of players will also let fans combine magic spells to create a BIG spell.
"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the fifth Harry Potter videogame we have created, and we are incredibly excited with the fresh innovations that the team has brought to the game," said Harvey Elliott, Executive Producer at EAUK. "With high anticipation for the film and our strong relationship with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, we have been able to develop a game that complements the film in this exciting addition to the Harry Potter franchise."
