News: 50 years, whoa.

Namco has been in business for fifty years and to celebrate they are releasing the Namco Museum 50th Anniversary Arcade Collection for the PS2, Xbox, GameCube and GBA this August. Never mind that video games have only existed for roughly thirty-five years and none of the games in this collection are older than twenty-five, just go with it.

The 50th Anniversary Collection will include 14 Namco arcade classics, two more than any previous Namco Museum release. The 14 will be:

Bosconian (1981)
Dig Dug (1982)
Dragon Spirit (1987)
Galaga (1981)
Galaxian (1979)
Mappy (1983)
Ms. Pac-Man (1981)
Pac-Man (1980)
Pole Position (1982)
Pole Position II (1983)
Rally X (1980)
Rolling Thunder (1987)
Sky Kid (1985)
Xevious (1982)

The GBA package will only include five titles: Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug and Rally X. Also, in what is becoming the standard for comilation games, the Xbox version will include an Xbox Live online leaderboard.

"Namco Museum 50th Anniversary brings countless hours of family-friendly entertainment to gamers everywhere," said Jeff Lujan, business director, Namco Hometek Inc. "With Pac-Man, Galaga, Pole Position, and more, Namco Museum 50th Anniversary Arcade Collection offers 14 landmark games in a single package."
