EA announces it's coverboys for NHL and NCAA @ Gaming Target

News: Desmond Howard and Vincent Lecavalier headline NCAA Football 06 and gasp NHL 06.

Even though there may not be an NHL season next year (negotiations are ongoing), EA has gone ahead and announced the cover athletes to NHL 06 and (more reasonably) NCAA Football 06.

NHL 06 will feature Tampa Bay Lightning center Vincent Lecavalier and the following features:

With NHL 06 players can score like a superstar, express themselves through their shooting style with the new EA SPORTS Skill Stick and light the lamp with highlight reel moves such as spinoramas, toe drags, bat-ins, and between-the-legs shots. Classic deke control adds to the arsenal of moves allowing maneuvers around defensemen before snapping off dangerous shots that can ripple the twine and knock the water bottle off the net.

While on the other side of the sports spectrum, NCAA Football 06 will feature 1991 Heisman Winner Desmond Howard and these features:

With all new features, redesigned graphics and improved gameplay, NCAA Football 06 continues to be the most authentic and realistic college football gaming experience. Gamers can act as Impact Players and single handedly break games wide open with highlight reel moves and special animations or take control of a program and make a run for the championship through a revamped Dynasty Mode. In addition, NCAA Football 06 has the exclusive license for college football videogames, and will be the only game to feature actual teams, stadiums and schools.

NHL 06 is coming to the PS2, Xbox and GameCube this fall and NCAA Football 06 is coming to the PS2 and Xbox this July. We'll have more on both games soon.
