News: The next Shining Force is in development.
On the heels of Shining Tears and the announcement of Phantasy Star Universe, Sega has announced the rebirth of another old RPG, Shining Force Neo.
Shining Force Neo is being developed by Sega Studio and is scheduled to ship this fall. While the word "Neo" may be in the title, Shining Force Neo definitely takes it's cues from classic RPGs.
Shining Force will star Max, a young knight who has been tasked by his father to rid the world of monster portals that are springing up all over. He will be joined in his quest by 11 different friends as they battle over 90 enemies on screen at once with real-time fighting.
Shining Force will also use a new level up system called Force Arts that allows players to turn Max into any kind of character they want. He can be a great wizard, a brutal warrior or something a little more balanced. Hardy players will also want to tackle the bonus dungeon that only opens after the final boss has been slain.
Other features include:
A well recognized game universe. The game features character types and enemies that will be immediately familiar to fans.
Gorgeous anime by Studio 4C. This notable animation team is made up of former Studio Ghibli (Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away) staff.
Full voice acting throughout the game. Engaging vocal performances strengthen the story's emotional impact.
Eleven unique characters join your party during the adventure. An involved story features nearly a dozen characters willing to take up Max's cause.
More than 90 enemies will simultaneously attack Max and his party. Massive warfare gives fans the epic feel they expect from a Shining Force game.
We'll have more on Shining Force Neo soon.
