E3 2005: Viewtiful Joe gets viewtiful in new places @ Gaming Target

News: More Viewtiful Joe on the Cube and for the first time on the DS and PSP.

Viewtiful Joe is back and more viewtiful than ever in new adventures for the GameCube, PSP and DS.

Viewtiful Joe: VFX Battle is the Viewtiful Joe fighting game that features members of the Viewtiful Joe crew fighting it out in an audition for the new Captain Blue movie. The GameCube and PSP will be treated to VFX Battle and the following features:

New versus gameplay for the Viewtiful Joe universe ЦThe gloves come off during the Сaudition' as players participate in this intense versus fighting action; a first for the award-winning series.

All-star cast of playable characters Ц Reacquaint yourself with familiar faces or discover new and original characters from the TV anime series including Sylvia, Alastor, Sprocket, an ice princess that intimidates people with her cold stares, and Captain Blue Junior, Captain Blue's sidekick who calls himself СJunior'.

Interactive environments Ц In addition to new set designs, players will be able to use enemies and background elements to attack their opponents.

Two different modes of play Ц Choose between one or two player cooperative mode.

Bonus PSP features Ц Additional content will be available and specifically geared towards the portable system.

Viewtiful Joe DS is not surprisingly coming to the DS and it builds on the familiar cel-shaded platforming of previous Joes with new enemies and Joe's little sister Jasmine. The touch screen will be used to solve puzzles and activate the Joe Camera which brings the top screen down to the bottom.

Both games will ship in the winter.
