News: Another Game Boy, not a new Game Boy.

Rumor had it that a "new Game Boy" would debut at this year's E3. Well the rumors were true, sort of.

Instead, Nintendo unveiled the Game Boy Micro, a GBA rebranded to the tiniest size possible. The system will measure 4 inches wide, 2 inches tall and 0.7 inches deep and weighs 2.8 ounces. It will play all GBA, GBC and original Game Boy games. On top of that, it features a tiny backlight which brightens what Nintendo calls "the best Game Boy screen ever". The backlight will also be adjustable to save battery power and to compensate for various lighting situations.

A rechargable battery and standard headphone jack (without need for an adapter) round out the basic package. New to the GBA world will be removable faceplates that will allow gamers to customize their GB Micro just as they will their Xbox 360.

The Game Boy Micro will be out in the fall for an as yet unannounced price.
