News: The first big game of the Christmas season to fall victim to a delay.

EA has announced that their upcoming adaptation of Mario Puzo's The Godfather has been pushed back to early 2006. The Xbox, PS2 and PC versions of the game will now ship sometime between January 1 and March 31, 2006. The Xbox 360 version officially has a To Be Announced release date now. The PSP version wasn't talked about at all, so no one knows when that one is coming.

The Godfather is one of the most cherished franchises in entertainment," said Executive Producer David DeMartini. "Releasing the game in early 2006 allows us more time to perfect the open-world experience of being a member of the Corleone family."

Now, leave the controller, take the canoli. I want a canoli.
