George Romero's City of the Dead

News: Your daily update of the fate of City of the Dead.

A few days ago we reported that Kuju Entertainment was looking for a new publisher for "the game formerly known as" George Romero's City of the Dead. This was in spite of the fact that Hip Games Europe was still alive and kicking and still planned to publish it.

Word came down today that Hip Interactive Europe has officially dropped the PC, PS2 and Xbox survival horror title. Mr. Romero couldn't get any respect from Hollywood for years and it looks like the same is happening in the game world.

In a final twist of the knife, spokesmen from Hip Europe had this to say: "Hip Interactive Europe had concerns over the quality of the development. Hip Interactive Europe intends to focus only on the highest potential games."

This is rather confusing to me as City of the Dead impressed many people at this year's E3. But I guess we'll have to wait and see where and when it will eventually rise from Development Hell.
