News: The puppy simulator sells 250,000 copies in its first week.

Nintendo is reporting that Nintendogs sold 250,000 copies in it's first week on sale. This means that 15% of all DS owners dipped into the doggie pool. Of course, I'm sure many DS owners bought all three versions of Nintendogs, so it might not be quite 15%.

For comparisons sake, Kotaku has pointed out that the best selling PSP game, Need For Speed Underground: Rivals, has sold about 325,000 copies since its release on March 24 through the end of July. A little quick math works that out to an average of 17,105 copies a week.
