News: Little bonuses, a second disc and the price of gaming stays the same.
Microsoft today laid down the details on the limited Collector's Edition of Perfect Dark Zero that has been appearing in various pre-order bundles around the Internet.
The package will include an embossed black metal game case, the "Hong Kong Sunrise" mini-comic, one of nine "Holographic Glyph" cards and a second disc of goodies.
The bonus disc will include:
"The Art of Perfect Dark Zero" behind-the-scenes video feature.
The audio track featured in the game, "Limelight", by DJ Kepi & Kat.
Perfect Dark Zero Xbox Live Gamer Pictures and a custom theme for the Xbox 360 Guide.
The first chapter of Perfect Dark: Initial Vector (set six months after the game) by Greg Rucka.
Microsoft has also revealed that the CE will retail for $59.99 and that the regular edition of the game will sell for the now standard price of $49.99. So it looks like the analysts who predicted all games would feature a $10 upward shift in pricing in the next-generation were wrong. While this is not set in stone for all games across all platforms, I'd be very surprised if all of Microsoft's 360 releases didn't follow suit with this pricing scheme. Now I hate to say I told you so... wait, that's not true. I knew it. I told you so. Gamers will not stand a $59.99 price for regular games and Microsoft knows this. Good for them.
We'll have more on Perfect Dark Zero as it's "holiday 2005" release comes closer.
