News: Except, it's not from Microsoft. But it is the most complete launch lineup on the net.
A report out of Reuters this morning has shed some light on the launch lineup for the Xbox 360. While it hasn't been confirmed by Microsoft yet, all the pieces seem to have fallen into place to show that this is the final launch lineup.
Earlier this week we learned from EA that they will have FIFA 06, Madden NFL 06, NBA Live 06, Need For Speed: Most Wanted and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 on November 22.
At X05, Microsoft cleared up a confusing press release (which we at Gaming Target read correctly by the way) and confirmed that Kameo: Elements of Power, Perfect Dark Zero and Project Gotham Racing 3 will be available on launch day.
Here's where the Reuters report comes in. Reuters has coaxed out of Activision that November 22 will see the release of Gun, Call of Duty 2, Quake 4 and Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. Of course, Activision has been saying that for months, so it's not all that surprising.
They then took a trip cross country to the New York offices of 2K Games and found that Amped 3, NBA 2K6, NHL 2K6, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Top Spin 2 will do the launch day jig.
While not part of the Reuters story, Namco previously confirmed that Ridge Racer 6 would be a launch title and Tecmo has said repeatedly that Dead or Alive 4 will be available at launch. This is in addition to the launch of Live Arcade and it's flagship title Mutant Storm Reloaded.
We'll keep you posted once we get the eventual confirmation from Microsoft on the complete list.
