News: Midway announces the next Spy Hunter, with The Rock firmly on board.
With Doom and The Rock sitting (sort of) pretty in theaters across the country, Midway has revealed the next game in the Spy Hunter series, Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run. Nowhere to Run is on track for a summer 2006 release on the PS2 and Xbox, right alongside the Spy Hunter movie starring The Rock. To set up a little of that release synergy companies love, Midway has also contracted The Rock to appear in Nowhere to Run and provide his voice to the game.
Nowhere to Run will be the first game in the Spy Hunter that will take players outside the Interceptor as Alex Decker can now take down NOSTRA goons with The Rock's melee moves.
"Midway is taking the classic Spy Hunter franchise in a powerful, new direction that will be led by the casting of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as the game's main character," said Steve Allison, chief marketing officer, Midway. "For the first time in the Spy Hunter franchise we are allowing the player to step out from behind the wheel of the Interceptor and straight into the action."
We'll have more on Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run very soon.
