News: Is it really that surprising?

Namco announced this morning that the Prince would roll again as Me and My Katamari will be coming to the PSP sometime in 2006.

The Prince is no longer rolling to recreate the sky, but to rebuild the island home of a group of homeless animals. This more "earthly pursuit" will see the Prince and an expanded cast of cousins rolling up junk in a new tropical paradise. New presents include masks, hats and shirts.

"The mesmerizing appeal of the Katamari franchise's game play continues to transcend cultural boundaries and receive critical acclaim," said Yoshi Niki, Business Unit Director, Namco Hometek Inc. "We are excited to expand our offerings to the PSP system, so that our fans can play Katamari whenever and wherever they are."

The PSP Katamari will feature four player Ad-Hoc play and a Save Anywhere features for long trips on the go.

But with the switch to the PSP the red flag goes up: how do you control a Katamari with only one stick? Well, Namco says that in Me and My Katamari "the controls of its PlayStation 2 predecessors have been intuitively remapped for handheld play, offering players the same simple and immediate gameplay experience." I'm not entirely sure what that means but when the game was first shown at TGS the face buttons stood in for the second stick.

Now, roll up the first fifteen screens of Me and My Katamari
