News: 2K Games flexes its exclusive MLB license.
2K announced today that they are hard at work on Major League Baseball 2K6 for the PS2, PSP, GameCube, Xbox and Xbox 360. Just like last year, Derek Jeter will grace the cover of Visual Concepts' latest baseball sim. It is scheduled to ship sometime in the Spring.
"We've assembled an amazing team to deliver the highest quality baseball title on every major video game platform," stated Greg Thomas, president of Visual Concepts, a 2K Sports studio. "2K Sports has pushed the boundaries of our entire line-up of games this year and Major League Baseball 2K6 will be no exception."
New to 2K6 will be "a new movement system and realistic player collisions on the infield and outfield" and "new broadcast elements includ[ing] flashback replays". 2K6 will also include a player morale system that instantly made me think of the glory days of Bases Loaded II. There was a game that was ahead of it's time.
But with Take Two's exclusive third party license for MLB games, they are the only game in town so we'll have more on Major League Baseball 2K6 soon.
