News: DOA4 to release during the final week of the final month of the year.

Tecmo announced today that Dead or Alive 4 will ship to retailers Thursday, December 29, 2005.

The highly anticipated Xbox 360 game is the latest installment of the popular female-fighting series that boasts an advanced online fighting system via Xbox Live, rich next-gen graphics, and other "big things." The Xbox Live features include a simultaneous 4-player tag battle for the first time in the series, up to 16-players online at one time, and a stylized and accessible online lobby system that allows players to choose an avatar and a УthemeФ for their house which will serve as their online lobby that other players can visit to get matched up for a fight.

УDead or Alive 4's unsurpassed visual beauty, worldwide online capabilities, and finely tuned fighting engine make it the game to own on Xbox 360,Ф John Inada, Tecmo's General Manager, said. УNo other fighting game on the market today will be able to match its depth, strategy, and awe-inspiring visuals. Dead or Alive 4 will be a force to be reckoned with.Ф

Tecmo originally intended to release Dead or Alive 4 as launch title for Xbox 360, which Microsoft shipped on November 22. The game was pushed back to December 1 and saw weekly delays that meant it wouldn't be out for the holidays. However, it still makes the cut for 2005 by releasing in the final week of the final month of the year. Teenage fanboys should be pleased.
