News: It's official, the DS is a hit.

Welcome back from the holidays to all the gamers out there. Gaming Target had a little problem when we transitioned to a new server over the holiday but if you can read this everything should be cool now.

There hasn't been much in the way of news over the last few days but a series of press releases have shown just how big the Nintendo DS has become. Nintendo's latest handheld has been purchased by over 13 million gamers since its debut last year. That includes 5 million in Japan, 4 million in the US and 3.5 million in Europe with the rest going to other territories like Australia and Latin America.

Nintendo also pointed to Super Mario 64 DS, Nintendogs and Mario Kart DS as the big sellers on the portable, with each having sold over a million copies.
