News: Take Two talks about 2006, including Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories for the PS2!
Take Two has revealed their preliminary financials from the most recent quarter and because of "the continued retail weakness for video game software during the holiday selling season in both North America and Europe" they have lowered their guidance once again.
But while Take Two's roller coaster financials aren't a surprise anymore, some of the games they've announced for the 2006 year are.
Starting off that list is a version of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories for the PS2. It currently has a spring release date and no other available information.
A little more concrete is Take Two's release schedule for the few months in between now and this spring. Those titles include Torino 2006 (PS2/Xbox/PC), The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PC/Xbox 360), Top Spin 2 (Xbox 360/DS/GBA), College Hoops 2K6 (Xbox 360) and Major League Baseball 2K6 (PS2/Xbox/Xbox 360/PSP/GameCube). Take Two is also trotting out the previously unrevealed Sudoku Fever (GBA) and Hummer Badlands (PS2/Xbox) during this period.
Later in the year Take Two plans to give us Bully (PS2/Xbox), Grand Theft Auto PSP 2 (PSP), The Da Vinci Code (PS2/Xbox), Prey (PC/Xbox 360) and 24: The Game (PS2). Other unnamed titles include another PSP game, a game based on "a new brand" for the Xbox 360 and a sequel to a Rockstar game on an unnamed system.
Finally, rounding out the known release schedule reveals "various other sports titles including NBA 2K7" and Family Feud will land on "multiple platforms" sometime around this time.
We'll keep you posted on all of these titles as their release dates get nearer.
