News: EA's World War II fighter goes next-gen.
After showing up on a GameStop sales sheet a few weeks ago, EA has officially announced Medal of Honor: Airborne for the PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360 and PC. The game is being developed by EA LA and is scheduled to ship during Winter 2006 across all platforms.
Airborne changes the Medal of Honor formula for the next-generation by placing players in the combat boots of Boyd Travers, Private First Class of the 82nd Airborne Division. Private Travers will begin all of his missions in the European theater by choosing a drop point and parchuting in.
"Medal of Honor Airborne is a step in a new direction for the franchise. While integrating our state-of-the-art, next-gen technology into every aspect of the game, we are introducing innovations that will redefine the series and impact the genre as a whole," explained Patrick Gilmore, VP and Executive Producer at EALA. "By fully controlling the airdrop from your very first step through landing, Medal of Honor Airborne adds a new dimension of player choice by letting you decide where every mission begins and how it plays out."
Once again, Captain Dale Dye has enlisted with EA to provide his military expertise to the development team.
We'll have more on Medal of Honor: Airborne soon.
