The Movies

Written by John Scalzo  on February 08, 2006

News: Lionhead reps say that The Movies will come to consoles, just not through Activision.

Two days ago, Activision announced the cancellation of the console editions of The Movies during their quarterly conference call. Yesterday, a member of the Lionhead dev team posted the following on their forums:

Activision will not be publishing the console version of The Movies but that does not mean the project is dead.

I'd like to add that PC sales for 2005 have been dissapointing (especially during Christmas) for everyone in this industry.

Rest assured that the team at Lionhead Studios are as dedicated to The Movies as they've ever been; an expansion pack is currently in development (which will be announced very shortly) and we are continuing to support The Movies Online!

So what do we know?

A. The Movies for consoles is alive and well.

B. An expansion pack is coming for the PC soon.

We'll keep our eyes on the marquee as we look for more The Movies news.
