News: Live from Berlin... it's Saturday Night Soccer!
In anticipation of the 2006 World Cup, EA has announced that they are bringing 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany to the (wait for it) PC, Xbox, Xbox 360, GameCube, PS2, PSP, DS and GBA this April.
Devloped by EA Canada as always, 2006 FIFA World Cup will feature an authentic recreation of the Cup with 127 national teams fighting tooth and nail through the qualifying rounds all the way to Cup tournament.
"The FIFA World Cup will be the single most watched sporting event by a worldwide television audience, bringing together soccer fans from around the world," said Joe Nickolls, lead producer of the game. "Our game, 2006 FIFA World Cup, celebrates this passion by capturing all of the national rivalries in-game, enabling fans to play their heroes and be a part of 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany."
New to the series is the Global Challenge, which gives players a chance to recreate big moments from past World Cup tournaments. Eight player matches and loads of unlockable content round out the Everyone-rated package.
As a final capper, here are the first three screenshots from the Xbox 360 edition.
