News: I find your lack of a release date disturbing...

The guys at Traveller's Tales are hard at work attempting to make Lego Star Wars II an even better game than the original. And today they revealed that one of the things they plan to do is mess with the difficulty.

Don't panic, they don't plan to take what is basically a kid's game and turn it into some hardcore sim. What they plan is to include an adaptive difficulty setting so if a player is flying through the Original Trilogy without a care in the world the Stormtroopers will get more accurate with their shots, among other game events. That's right world, sometimes Stormtroopers can hit their targets.

Basically, the better you are, the harder the game gets.

"When switched on, the game will begin at the base level of difficulty and ramp up as the player succeeds," explains David Perkinson, producer at LucasArts. "The opposing AI will become more aggressive, harder to destroy and more accurate with their fire as the user improves."

Before you go, you might also want to check out three new screens from Lego Star Wars II featuring the Millenium Falcon, "These are not the droids you're looking for" and a famous promotion.
