News: Don't think many of the skater kids are rockin' out to Kiss these days, but okay...
Activision has announced the official in-game music for the upcoming Tony Hawk's Underground -- not all of the artists scream Уskateboarding,Ф but there are certainly many well-known names. The game is scheduled for an Oct. 27 release this Monday on the PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube.
The soundtrack will feature over 75 songs from diverse genres of music -- some of the more recognizable artists include Jurassic 5, Nas, Bad Religion, The Clash, Jane's Addiction and Queens of the Stone Age (no, those aren't David Bowie and Elton John...). And it's certainly no surprise that Kiss, the undisputed masters of shameless self-promotion, will be contributing to the soundtrack with УRock and Roll All Night.Ф
Tony Hawk's Underground will take the popular skateboarding series just that -- underground. While it won't be nearly as seedy as stuff like The Fast and The Furious, you won't start out as a pro competing in legitimate competitions. The game follows your career from a streetwise skater punk to extreme sports legend, just like the path of Tony Hawk himself. The gameplay has also been tweaked from previous Tony Hawk titles -- for example, you can now get off your board and run around, making for a more realistic experience.
